How SkyShepherd™ Works: Redefining Wireless Containment
The SkyShepherd™ system uses advanced GPS technology to create and maintain your pet’s safe play area:
- Create Custom Boundaries: Using the intuitive SkyShepherd mobile app, you can effortlessly draw and save an unlimited number of custom boundaries for your property, no matter the shape.
- GPS-Guided Collar: Your dog wears the compact, lightweight SkyShepherd™ GPS collar, which communicates directly with GPS satellites to constantly monitor your pet’s location relative to the boundaries you’ve set.
- Patented Shepherding™ Technology: As your pet approaches the defined boundary, our exclusive Shepherding™ Technology provides smart, moment-specific feedback. It gently guides your dog back to the safe zone with dynamic audio and harmless static stimuli, adapting to your dog’s movements and direction. When your dog is safely within bounds, the collar provides a positive “safe tone.”
- No Wires, No Worries: Without the need to bury wires, you have ultimate flexibility to adjust boundaries as your landscaping changes or even take the system with you when you travel!
Key Features & Benefits of SkyShepherd™
SkyShepherd™ is packed with unique advantages that make it a leader in wireless pet containment:
Is SkyShepherd™ Right for Your Dog & Property?
While SkyShepherd™ offers incredible flexibility, it’s important to understand its ideal applications:
- Best for Properties Over 1 Acre: Due to the nature of GPS technology and the need for alert zones, SkyShepherd™ performs best on properties of one acre or more.
- Optimal in Open Areas: Works most effectively in areas with limited dense tree cover or tall, sheer structures (we recommend at least 50 feet between boundary lines and such structures) for reliable GPS signal reception.
- Not for Swimming Dogs: GPS signals can be affected by water, so this system is not designed to contain swimming dogs.
- Pet Weight: Optimized for dogs weighing at least 20 lbs.
